Daily briefing: Basharat cut at 16-0; Barber to face Judice at UFC 335

Farid Basharat, the unbeaten 16-0 bantamweight, has been removed from the UFC roster after fighting out his contract, MMA Fighting reported on Wednesday. He was 7-0 in the UFC, and his last fight was a win over John Garza in July. MMA Fighting said he was not offered a new deal and is free to fight elsewhere, though the UFC could re-sign him. Bloody Elbow carried the same news and said it was confirmed on Wednesday afternoon. We found no UFC statement.

Makhachev-Prates for the welterweight title at UFC 336 on Jan. 30 in Toronto remains a report from Bloody Elbow citing Alvaro Colmenero, with no UFC announcement (Bloody Elbow, Oct. 13).

Maycee Barber (15-3) will fight Carli Judice (7-2) in a flyweight bout at UFC 335 on Dec. 12 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, MMA Fighting reported after a UFC announcement on Wednesday. Bloody Elbow also reported the fight. A light heavyweight bout between Quentin Pasley (4-0) and Junior Tafa (7-6) was also added, per MMA Fighting. The card is headlined by a lightweight BMF title bout between Charles Oliveira and Diego Lopes. Barber was last seen in March, when Alexa Grasso knocked her out.

Dana White responded to Sean Strickland's pay complaints at the Contender Series press conference on Tuesday. "When isn't Sean Strickland upset about something or doesn't have something to say?" White said. He said Strickland signed a new contract in May and that the number Strickland has put out is "not true", according to Bloody Elbow's account. Strickland, the middleweight champion, has said he will not defend the belt until his pay is settled.

Anthony Pettis will return to boxing against Neeraj Goyat in a six-round super welterweight bout on Jan. 23, 2027, on an IPBL Boxing card sanctioned by the Indian Boxing Council. MMA Fighting said promotional officials confirmed it. The host city is expected to be announced in November, with Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam and Chennai in contention. Bloody Elbow reported the same bout and date.

Jasmine Jasudavicius, who fights Erin Blanchfield in the co-main event on Saturday, told Full Send MMA she was fined $10,000 by the Manitoba Combative Sports Commission after UFC Winnipeg in April. Cameras appeared to show dip in her mouth during her fight with Karine Silva; she said it was gum.
